New Tools support the Recycling and Waste Management Debate

The public consultation agenda on waste and recycling is hotting up, but are we in danger of switching off the public in the process. The real question is how do you consult on waste management and recycling issues, and at the same time provide positive feedback and real value during the process.

A raft of consultations are underway across the country to better understand how people, businesses and communities wish to shape local policies. These are traditionally undertaken via street surveys, telephone surveys, or by surveys distributed in the mail. Of course these communicate the message that people’s opinions are appreciated and their responses will contain some valued information impacting on a community’s strategic planning objectives. By combining a traditional survey with an information service you can provide specific information, guidance and useful contacts for those who already have an interest but are lacking the necessary information to take it forward.

In support of this Scientia Solutions has recently released a new and valuable online survey tool. ViewsCount is an enhancement to the already successful Waste Wise product range.

ViewsCount provides easy to use online survey tools to enable clients to conduct unlimited surveys and collect unlimited responses, providing all the information needed to support marketing and promotion campaigns. ViewsCount is a cost-effective and easy to use online solution, providing all the tools needed to set-up surveys, publish and analyse their results. The product is ideal for supporting market research, public consultation, measuring advertising effectiveness, employee and customer satisfaction, concept testing, and supports the e-government agenda.

The product also provides access to relevant information - documents and other attachments, web resources, pages of web content - and can be used to generate a database search to bring back information pertinent to the users’ needs/interests. Being available 24 x 7 it is ideal for any market research or consultation campaign.

Scientia’s Director Paul Armitage said, “We are continually investing in new products and the launch of our new and innovative survey product, ViewsCount, has created a great deal of interest with focus on councils and other public sector organisations who wish to encourage and support the effectiveness of public engagement and consultation.”

Yorkshire Renewables Energy Network are using ViewsCount to help customers develop renewable energy projects by providing them with information and advice, general information on energy efficiency and available technologies and information on providers such as green architects. Whilst the product can be used for any web-based survey or questionnaire campaign, this is particularly important in the environmental sector to maintain support for the governments drive towards increased management, recycling and composting.
