IT Works with Software City

IT professionals from around the UK and Europe will hear first hand about how Sunderland will become competitive in the global software industry. David Dunn, Chief Operating Officer of Sunderland Software City, will be outlining his vision for North East England's latest innovation connector, at the upcoming IT in the Community Conference.

Sunderland Software City is a new multi-million pound project to establish the software industry as a major global force in North East England, attracting inward investment and employing thousands of people. A recent independent study found that Sunderland has the infrastructure and expertise to deliver the project, and it is anticipated that the North East's software industry will grow at twice the rate of the UK's software industry.

The session is part of the IT Works programme being run to inform local businesses of regional IT initiatives, alongside a national conference.

Delegates are arriving on Wearside on 25 and 26 November, at the Stadium of Light, to discuss the use of IT in improving digital equality. Sunderland is the natural home for such a conference as in 2007 the City was the winner of the Governments Digital Challenge competition.

The conference is free to attend for companies based in North East England, and provides an opportunity to network and knowledge share with IT professionals from the public and community and voluntary sectors.
