A North East PR agency has been shortlisted for a record-breaking 13 awards in ten categories in this year's industry awards.

The Pride Awards are organised by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, and Tees Valley-based Cool Blue has been shortlisted from entries across the PR, design and marketing disciplines.

The firm, owned and run by managing director Tanya Garland, also won this year's Tees Valley Service Business of the Year title in Trinity Mirror's North East Business Awards.

Tanya said: "PR is a very competitive industry and we take nothing for granted but to be on the short-lists for ten categories is in itself a huge accolade. We are nominated for our PR campaigns, the materials we design, website creation and marketing initiatives - which is testament to the expertise of the entire team.

"As a local person running a successful business, staffed by a team of local people, it is sometimes a frustration that people believe the big-city postcode myth that firms based in places like Middlesbrough cannot compete - our showing in these awards exposes that view as fallacy."

Cool Blue has been shortlisted in the corporate communications, crisis communications, public sector, low budget, consumer relations, best use of media relations, best use of photography or design, best leaflet, best website and outstanding PR consultancy.
