Bright sparks at RMT support firework fundraising

A North East accountancy firm is supporting the biggest charitable fireworks display in the North East.

RMT Accountants and Business Advisors is offering support to Gosforth Round Table and helping to organise its Bonfire Night display.

The event takes place on Wednesday 5 November at Broadway West playing fields, Gosforth, with over 10,000 attendees expected on the night. By offering organised fireworks displays, the event seeks to minimise the safety risks associated with fireworks.

Martin Stephenson, corporate finance director at RMT, is also vice-chairman of Gosforth Round Table. He said: “RMT helped Gosforth Round Table with this event last year, which proved to be a great partnership. Anyone hoping to come along to the fireworks display can get a ticket at the gate on the night.

“Gosforth Round Table’s aim is to produce a spectacular fireworks display and this year the partnership has created an even bigger show than last year. Everyone who comes to the event assists with the overall cost of the fireworks, thus giving maximum return back to the local community. Apart from the cost of the fireworks, all the fencing and lighting equipment is provided by local businesses free of charge.

“Last year we helped raise enough funds to buy two portable respirators for the RVI’s special care baby unit and this year we hope to raise even more funds for a good cause.”

Gates open at 6.15pm for a 7.15pm start. Tickets will be available on the night at £3 for adults and £1 for children.
