The former head of design for Playboy Intimates has decided to move back to her roots up north to develop her own line of designer lingerie.
Michelle Taylor, a graduate in Fashion Marketing from Northumbria University, decided to set up a freelance design business in April this year after she was told by a leading lingerie buyer that her designs were strong enough to create her own brand.

Marketing services company r//evolution created a stir at the 'Marketing: the art of' event at the Sage, Gateshead on Monday when promotional staff painted orange played celebrity publicist Max Clifford at his own PR game.
"We wanted to create an impact," said r//evolution's senior account manager, Hugh Medcalf. "So our orange people mingled with delegates, handing out tins of orange jelly beans."

A North East creative agency has completed more than half a million pounds' worth of refurbishment work on a landmark building in Newcastle to allow it to grow further.
Different relocated to the former synagogue on Ravensworth Terrace in Newcastle city centre last November. Since then the company has increased its workforce from 32 to 40 and spent the last year completing a refurbishment of the building.

North East creative agency bgroup has developed a new online social network for the North East Entrepreneurs Forum, www.ifwecanyoucantalk.co.uk. The site, part of a region-wide campaign to inspire people interested in setting up their own business, will provide young people with an informal new networking platform to speak to like-minded people interested in entrepreneurship.
One of only a small number of social networking sites dedicated to business entrepreneurship, www.ifwecanyoucantalk.co.uk is a resource for people in the North East who might be starting to consider what a business start-up involves or have a passing interest but are unsure of the next steps needed to put their ideas into action.

A Northumbria University student has won a top international prize for his futuristic personalised transport design which could help ease traffic congestion and cut carbon emissions.
Yang Liu, 21, from the Shangdon Province of China is studying Northumbria University's BA (Hons) in Transportation Design and he beat competition from post-graduate designers across the world to win the Interior Motives Design Award 2008 'Best Xperience' category for his I-shoes.
