Ladies Day at the Holiday Inn
LADIES who lunch can enjoy a day of fashion, food and flowers at a leading North East hotel – and raise money for the region’s disabled children in the process.
Holiday Inn Newcastle-Jesmond is holding a special Ladies Day in partnership with the Evening Chronicle Sunshine Fund on Thursday, October 6 and is calling on women to make it as glamorous an event as its racecourse namesake.
The hotel atJesmond Road, which recently underwent a multi-million pound refurbishment, has lined up a wide range of stalls and pop-up concessions for the event, selling everything from jewellery and clothes to make-up by YSL and a variety of designer label shoes, hats and handbags.
Throughout the day guests will be able to learn the secret of perfect canapés and cupcakes with demonstrations from Northumberland-based home economist Helen Porter, who has worked alongside a number of celebrity chefs including Brian Turner and Ken Hom.
There will also be given lessons on how to create a beautiful bouquet or flower arrangement by Alan Douglas, owner of Greener Interiors in Medburn, Ponteland, which is the North East’s largest commercial florist and has provided flowers for HM The Queen, Princess Anne and David Cameron.
In addition, models will be taking to the catwalk at various times throughout the day to showcase clothes supplied by Debenhams for a range of occasions, while YSL, which is helping with the show, will also hand out goodie bags to all who attend.
Tickets cost £34.95 per person, including a three course meal
