Picture Farm is picture perfect

Date 15 Mar 2007

One of the North East’s fastest-growing multi-media production companies, based in Durham, has recently received a major boost as one of its staff has been accepted as a member of the photography industry’s leading regulatory body. Picture Farm, which was established at the end of 2006 by David Glen Walker, is now a Licentiate member of the Master Photographers Association (LMPA), the only organisation for professional, qualified photographers in the UK. To become a recognised member photographers must go through a long selection process, meet strict criteria and are bound by a professional code of practice.

David set up Picture Farm to provide a full service multi-media production company. Working alongside him are ITV Tyne Tees presenter Philippa Tomson, visual artist Ross Parker and Kate Syers, a Switzerland-based editor and writer who works on Picture Farm’s international commissions. Despite only being established at the end of last year, Picture Farm has already completed a range of worldwide projects including commissions for explorer Conrad Dickinson in the Arctic, for SCOPE in China and for the NewcastleGateshead Initiative (NGI).

David said: “Being recognised in this way is very important for Picture Farm as the Master Photographers Association gives clients a quality guarantee that the work we are producing is of the very highest standard. It makes us stand out from the crowd which is what we have set out to do with all of our commissions in the North East, Europe and in countries further afield."
