Enterprise Week set to raise the bar in Northumberland

Date 13 Nov 2007

As part of this year's Enterprise week, the Enterprising Northumberland campaign will be supporting the events taking place across the UK. Northumberland's first ever Enterprise Week Conference was held last year at Woodhorn Museum, and was ahiled by organisers and participants as a success in encouraging potential business start-ups.

This year, Northumberland's Enterprise Week activities are designed to showcase the diversity of the enterprise culture within Northumberland.

Northumberland County Council (NCC) is co-ordinating a week-long ‘Good Ideas Day' programme involving a live web-chat between pupils from the high schools in the county and a variety of "business experts" such as Kevin Lambert, Chief Superintendant Area Commander for Northumberland.

Northumberland Business Service Limited (NBSL) is working with Durham Business School and Women Into Networking (WIN) to host a Women's Enterprise Day event on Wednesday 14 November. This will involve the launch of their website, and an online virtual centre to match women mentors to mentees throughout the region.

Social Enterprise Northumberland (SEN) is organising a Social Enterprise Day event at Longhirst Hall on Thursday 15 November, which includes a "Speed Networking" opportunity for social enterprise businesses throughout the county.

Enterprising Northumberland is funded by the Northumberland Strategic Partnership. For more information visit
