Graham Robb’s Profile
I founded Recognition in 1990 from my bedroom in Hartlepool, the reason was that I had been forced to leave my job as a broadcaster on the local BBC station in order to stand for parliament against Peter Mandelson. Although I lost the contest the experience caused me to look at how much I was enjoying PR and I decided to stick with the business and invest in its future. It is now one of the most significant PR firms in the north of England and has worked for numerous top names and businesses. Among the many organisations and people I have managed long term PR assignments for since 1990 are: KPMG; Newcastle Graingtertown project; Wensleydale Cheese; Priory Healthcare; Southern Cross Healthcare plc; Fourseasons Healthcare; Duncan Bannatyne; Marchday plc; Black & Decker; Carillion Developments; Costain Energy & Process; NOF Energy; Ebac; the Institute of Directors; Rok plc and the UK’s most famous plumbing business London based Pimlico Plumbers!
In a both a professional capacity and as public figure I has been involved in Conservative politics. I was lead spokesperson for the successful ‘North East Says No!’ referendum campaign, as well as regional spokesperson for the Conservative Party. I was also a press officer for both the Rt Hon John Major and the Rt Hon William Hague. I relish the media and live, eat and breathe satellite news programmes from across the world! There are few PR professionals who can match my experience in regional and national media.
