Survey launched for Third Sector training

Date 29 Nov 2007

A new survey has been launched to assess training needs of people working in the Third Sector in the North East. The North East Third Sector Skills Survey 2007/2008 is being conducted by, a regional training and career progression website for people in the Third Sector., which is managed by Project North East (PNE) and supported by the Northern Rock Foundation and the European Regional Development Fund, says that the survey will highlight training needs and barriers to learning, identify gaps in provision and suggest how training is best delivered in future.

Paul Lancaster, Project Manager, said: "With the growing importance of skills in the UK, the survey is an opportunity for voluntary and community groups, arts organisations, social enterprises, not-for-profit organisations, charities and community interest groups across the region to have their voice heard and tell us what training they need to develop themselves and provide an even better service for the people they support."

Anyone working in the Third Sector who would like to share their views on skills and training is invited to do so by the 7 December 2007 deadline by completing the survey online at

Surveys can also be sent out through the post or completed over the telephone by calling a member of the team on 0191 261 6009.

As an added incentive to complete the survey there is a chance for one lucky person to win £30 worth of shopping vouchers for a store of their choice.
