Date 3 Apr 2007

A global survey of the best business incubation facilities in the world has ranked Project North East’s (PNE) Newcastle business centre in the world’s top ten. The business centre in Pink Lane has won top ten rankings in a recent global survey to find the world’s best science based business incubators.

The global competition organised by the Science Alliance and the Centre for Strategy and Evaluation Services (CSES) attracted entries from 22 countries around the world. PNE, the NewcastleGateshead based Enterprise and Economic Development Agency, was awarded top ten rankings in the 'Best Science Based Incubator' and 'Self Sustainability' categories.

Richard Clark, Director of PNE’s North East Workspace said, “This is a major global business incubator benchmarking exercise, and to achieve a top ten ranking is a tribute to the success of PNE’s pioneering approach to the development of small business workspace over many years. It is good news for PNE, for our tenant businesses, and puts the region on the map in terms of best practice.”
