The Rt. Hon. Nick Brown MP, Minister for the North East, will be guest speaker at a North East Economic Forum event today.

Addressing a 100 strong invited audience of regional decision makers from business, local and national government, media and numerous regional bodies, the Minister will discuss his vision for the North East region, identifying the priorities as he sees them. Mr Brown was appointed Minister for the North East following the change in administration in July.

The event will take place at the Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough and will be chaired by Joe Docherty, Chief Executive, Tees Valley Regeneration and will include an introduction from Alan Clarke, Chief Executive, One NorthEast.

Mr Docherty said: "We know that the Minister has a real commitment to the region's long term future. This event will be an opportunity for regional stakeholders to discuss with the Minister the North East's priorities and is an excellent launch-pad for the NEEF conference scheduled to take place in November."

Mr Clarke said: "This event allows us to discuss with the Minister the changes unveiled in the recent Sub-National Review of Economic Regeneration, and to demonstrate that the North East can continue to work across political and administrative boundaries to tackle the challenges that it faces."
