Date 17 Sep 2006

Teesside is bracing itself for 10 hours of live music this Sunday with the arrival of Middlesbrough Music Live. The free festival organised by Middlesbrough Council will return for another year, bringing a showcase of new up-and-coming live acts to the region. The festival, which has previously attracted the likes of Editors, the Darkness, Razorlight and Keane, prides itself on promoting the work of new artists from the local area and beyond. This year will see over 100 acts covering all genres of music, from rock and indie to acoustic and metal performers at 11 venues across the town.90’s indie superstars Ocean Colour Scene will top the bill on the TFM stage, together with Morning Runner and current NME favourites, The Fratellis. Studio 64 stage will be dedicated to local musicians from the Teesside area. X factor finalists Journey South won’t be making a guest appearance, but Teesside has strength in depth, including the exciting Velterelles and legendary local rock and roll band, the White Negroes. If you fancy something a bit heavier, the Evening Gazette stage will be provided a wealth of rock and metal bands from around the world, including Zebrahead who’ll be headlining fresh from their performance at Download last weekend.
