Date 15 Oct 2007

2007 is the European Year of Equal Opportunities for All. To celebrate this, a competition called "The European Union and non-discrimination" will be taking place across Europe. European children and teenagers are invited to design a poster on the theme of non-discrimination in the EU. The aim of the competition is to make young people more tolerant and open towards diverse multinational society that they live in.

The competition is open for groups of 4 or more young people with one adult supervisor, within two age groups: 12-14 years old and 15-18 years old. Groups who want to take part should register online by 29 October and posters should be submitted no later than 31 October.

The six winning teams, three in each age group, will be invited to attend an all-expenses-paid award giving ceremony on 20 November, which is the International Day of Children's Rights. The two winners at national level will then compete in a second round at European level. The three top teams in each age group at European level will be invited to attend an award-giving ceremony in Brussels 15-17 December.
